Kathy Kerner's Cake Collection: My name is Kathy. I'm 24 and am employed at a grocery store bakery. During my time there I've gained a lot of experience with decorating cakes and allowed to be creative with my design experiments. I'm always striving to get better and find new creative ideas for cakes. I don't always get to use my ideas at work as we have to follow templates and legal things get in the way as well. When I can't get an idea I want done at work, I tend to find any excuse to say "hey lets celebrate ______ with a cake!" and do what I can at home. I've experimented a little with fondant but I will admit I don't fully understand how to work with it. Most of the cakes are made with buttercream icing. Some of the cakes posted are made at work and some are made at home.
